Babes in Kongland is their very first DVD release, and what a breath-taking debut it is! It is a picture that wallows in nudity and immoral sexual hilarity. Babes in Kongland is almost like a sexploitation spoof of Planet of the Apes, except in this feature there is only one ape-like creature and an innumerable amount of naked females. With hilarious jokes and appetizing nudity being the primary ingredients, Babes in Kongland is the ideal picture for a night of kinky sexploitation viewing. If you are one of the many people who have become a regular at purchasing Seduction Cinema releases over the years, Babes in Kongland and the Secret Key Motion Pictures catalogue will be perfect companions to your Alternative Cinema collection. With its naughty compilation of sexy mischief, Babes in Kongland is the recommended therapy for the depressed individual. Think of Babes in Kongland as an anti-depressant. If the humorous plot and comical state of affairs doesn't compel you to spew laughter, the naked babes should at least put a contented smile on your face. What more could you ask for?

The synopsis of Babes in Kongland revolves around two mad scientists who attempt to create the ultimate invention. However, their inventive capacity (if you could call it that) is often put aside due to their commitments at watching softcore pornography and repairing broken television sets. Yet their waning prospects of becoming great inventors take a more lucrative turn when the mad scientist constructs a special device that tunes into various television programmes from the far reaches of the universe. The two scientists, for the most part, use this simple creation (which is nothing more than a television set and a remote control) to watch lesbian porn and countless sexual shenanigans. But what appears to be the holy grail of technological advances soon takes a turn for the worse when the mad scientist is magically transported to another world after experimentally pushing the buttons on the remote control.

The world in which the mad scientist is transported to is an awe-inspiring landscape of volcanic eruptions, misty mountaintops and precipitous cliffs. The mad scientist, while surveying the green garden in which he finds himself, frantically pushes the buttons on the remote control in an ambitious attempt to teleport himself back home; but when this fails, and the realisation of being neglected on an alien planet begins to sink in, he screams for help. However, lurking behind the lush bushes surrounding the Eden-like garden is a pale, voluptuous woman with hip-length ginger hair, appearing almost like a Scottish pagan Goddess in the dazzling rays of the sun. Once the pale beauty captures the attention of the mad scientist, she performs a seductive dance that completely hypnotises him. He walks over to the enchanting Goddess and closes his eyes in anticipation of being kissed. Once his eyes are closed, the ginger-haired beauty bashes him over the head with a club. She then drags the mad scientist to her cavern.

The cavern is home to a tribe of sex-starved women. The women are ruled by a brutal dominatrix and they have been trying to locate their missing erotic ape. The erotic ape, who is nothing more than a man in a gorilla suit, escaped from the cavern with a blow-up doll in search of freedom. It appears that the ape was sick and tired of being a love-slave to the promiscuous women. Therefore, the women had no option but to become lesbians. The mad scientist, however, is an unwelcome visitor to this prehistoric landscape. The female tribe have embedded within them an intense loathing of the male sex. As a result, they threaten the mad scientist with a torturous demise if he does not comply in helping the women locate their missing erotic ape.

Seems outrageous doesn't it, and you will be correct in thinking yes! Wacky twists and turns in sexploitation filmmaking do not come any more outlandish than this. Babes in Kongland is quite simply a vast ocean of sexual shenanigans and humorous calamity. The scenes with the ape and the two mad scientists conversing about their new invention were the highlights of the entire feature. How many other sexploitation films can hold their hands up and allege to feature a man in a gorilla suit dancing with a blow-up doll inside a cavern on alien planet immersed with sex-starved females? Babes in Kongland therefore is about as good as it gets. The frequent scenes of lesbian sex were very well done, and the exotic locations and cavernous waterfalls added an erotic blemish to the proceedings not found in many other sexploitation features. This was one contemporary sexploitation picture that I enjoyed immensely! Humour and sex are always hit when inserted into one picture, and Babes in Kongland is a smashing hit with both these ingredients having equal screen time!

Lou Vockell directed Babes in Kongland and even wrote the script. His other sexploitation features include Hookers in a Haunted House (1999) and Killer Sex Queens from Cyberspace (1998). According to the internet movie database, Babes in Kongland was filmed in 2002 and was released by Sub Rosa Studios under the alternative title of World of the Erotic Ape. World of the Erotic Ape was released on DVD back in 2003 and included the mediocre Dream Witch (2000) as a double feature.

Jenny Wallace plays the part of the ginger-haired beauty. Not having much experience at being an actress, her other features include Zombie Cult Massacre (1997) and Hookers in a Haunted House. She has also made appearances in a number of erotic-horror magazines, such as Vamperotica, Draculina, and Scream Queens. If Jenny Wallace wasn't enough to get your blood pumping, Julie Strain probably will. A femme fatale bombshell who won Penthouse Pet of the Month award in June 1991 and become Penthouse Pet of the Year in 1993, Julie Strain's appearance in Babes in Kongland is a winner.

Picture wise this is a very clean-looking DVD (in full-screen) with extra attention being paid to the boobs and butts. The quality therefore is what you would expect from a low-budget feature. The sound (Dolby Digital - English) is also what you would expect, with extra emphasis being paid to the orgasmic moans.

The extras on the disc are, as expected, loaded with nudity and Secret Key Motion Pictures forthcoming releases. The trailers on show are the exact same trailers included on their Taylor Wane's Erotic Games DVD: Sensual Incantations, Topless Tapioca Wrestling, Forbidden Desires, Taylor Wane's Erotic Games, Softcore Divas, The Breastford Wives, and The House on Hooter Hill. If Taylor Wane exposing her well-endowed assets in these trailers wasn't enough to stir your love-gun, maybe the Candy Doll and Addie Morton softcore erotic 'loop vault' will do the trick.

Overall, Babes in Kongland is about as low budget as low budget can get, with generally hit-or-miss humour. Nevertheless, if you are one of the many people who have become devoted fans of Seduction Cinema releases, you know what type of humour to expect. Babes in Kongland doesn't pretend to be a masterpiece of contemporary sexploitation cinema, but it is a stunning success at doing what it was intended to do: putting a large, contented smile on your face. It is a picture drenched in bad taste, cheesy dialogue, silly sets, and amateur acting - but all done with incredible fun. If you have a quirky penchant for softcore comedy spoofs and pictures engrossed with female nudity, buy this film. 9/10!
